The "Imaginary Botanicals" series is an ongoing series. These paintings frequently invoke one or more flowers set against a background, and perhaps with a landscape. Many use a combination of watercolor and sumi ink. Flowers, circles, stalks invoke the natural and organic shapes and the mystery and wonder of nature, and also are symbolic of life, celebrations, growth, re-birth, joy, but also of the inevitable passage of time, seasons and children's games and the poppies growing over the battlefields of WWI. Some of these paintings relate to the "Exploring the Circle" series.
